Red Brolly Swap

I had Jo as my partner and I made her the Teana Purse. It wasn't what I was planning to make initially, but that pattern has hidden itself. So at the last minute - literally - I was stitching the purse to the clasp. Was very happy with it when it was done.

I received from Jenny - a gorgeous Sewing Carry All, pincushion and a notepad. I have made this for someone else but never for myself, so I am just rapt - thank you so much Jen, they are really beautiful!

It's Material Girls on Monday night, so I will be taking my new bag and pincushion with me to show off!

When Jo was here last time, she mentioned that she liked the scarf I had hanging from the chair - took a photo to put on my blog and still haven't - and that she wouldn't mind a red one. No red to be found, but a ball of marroon/purple found it's way over to the parcel complete with its own pattern! Happy knitting!

This is the scarf I was telling you about, Peg!  Same yarn, just turned around the other way - I bought it in London last year - Sirdar Salsa.
Haven't seen it here yet but we tend to be about 12 months or so behind, hehehehe

I probably need to have my fingers rapped .....

I can't believe how long it's been since I blogged, but I have been doing things - mostly school and family related. Here's a lovely photo of our two little girls - you'll have to wait for the rest - some of it is secret sewing.

Mattea is 8 weeks old today and has the most beautiful smile - if you are lucky enough to catch it! This is a photo our DIL took - so cute. The family came up yesterday for my birthday and we had lots of laughs at the little stories we heard. Azz told us that she had to wear her ear muffs  - that she used to wear to the footy because she hated the noise - in the car because her sister is just sooooooooo noisy. No way would she be convinced that she used to scream blue murder in the car from the day she went home from hospital. Luckily she has grown up a lot - yesterday she slept all the way home, while her sister screamed. The trip usually takes about 100 minutes - think it took closer to 150 home.

Thanks to everyone for my birthday wishes - I had a great day. Next blog I'll put up photos of the presents I received from  the local patchwork group, Material Girls.

January OPAM finishes

Click on the OPAM 2012 page to see these photos better.

I have been working pretty steadily to get through my bits and pieces before school goes back. I've played a bit with friends at Deloraine last week as well :)

What do you think???

I've put photos of all the items I have made this month onto my OPAM 2012 page. What do you think? Should I just put them onto the normal blog and somehow link them to the photos?? Happy with what I have achieved so far this year - have a jade coloured winter jacket finished, just needs stitching up and buttons as well as a nearly complete Happy Christmas banner. So will shortly be 2 Feb finishes as well.

Welcome to our world, little one!

On Sunday, 730am we welcomed Mattea Jessie Estelle into our family, a tiny 8lb 15oz! DH and I went up in the afternoon for the welcoming cuddle and champagne cheers with dinner.
Very new - about 10 hours old.
Very long finger nails at birth and scratches on her face and forehead from them.

A caption could read -
you'd better get in more practice -
this isn't very comfy you know!

A whole new world for this little family!
